*offering online and in-person sessions* Lauren is a native of Conway/Myrtle Beach area. She graduated from University of South Carolina in 2010 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Work. In 2012 she earned her Master of Social Work degree from University of South Carolina. Lauren's post graduate experience includes community mental health, inpatient psychiatric and therapeutic foster care prior to founding Brighter Horizons Counseling, LLC in 2018. Lauren enjoys working with young adults to seniors with issues relating to depression, anxiety and life transitions. Her preferred treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. In her spare time Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, biking, painting, reading and gardening. *offering only online sessions* Katrina was born and raised in New York City and relocated to the area in 2016. In 1995 Katrina received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Community Counseling with an Advanced Certificate of Specialization in Mental Health from St. Bonaventure University. Katrina has over 20 years of mental health experience working with patients in outpatient, inpatient, and community based residential services. Some of the companies that she has worked for include: Federation Employment and Guidance Services (FEGS) in New York; The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services (JBFCS) in New York; Institute for Community Living (ICL) in New York; and The South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) in South Carolina. When working with a client Katrina is primarily focused toward a strength-based, person-centered approach. She enjoys working with patients age 10 and up in helping to treat symptoms related to depression, grief/bereavement, low self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, mental health issues, addiction, medical ailments and relationship issues. She is also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). In her free time Katrina loves spending time with my family, traveling, crafting, writing poetry and bike riding.
